To Create a MaverickJames.com Gift Registry, you must first create an account.
Just click on "Your Account" at the top of any page, fill in the required information and you are set to go. Once you have registered you will be able to create your own Gift Registry.
Locating an existing Gift Registry
If you are trying to retrieve and review a Gift Registry that someone you know created here at MaverickJames.com, you can use the Gift Registry Search to try and locate it. If the creator chose to hide the registry, you will need to obtain a link from them to access it. Gift Registry Search will not show hidden registries in the search results. In order to do a search, you will need to know one of the following types of information: The Registry Creator's Name, The Registries Name or the Date of the Event.
Create a Gift Registry:
If you have not done so, create an account. It's free and easy. Click on "Your Account" located at the top, right side of any page. Select "Manage Gift Registries". Click the button that says "Create New Registry"
Fill in the required information:
Event Type:
Fill in the type of event this registry is for. It might be a Birthday, Anniversary, Holiday or Just Because.
Event Name:
Name your Registry, Use something like Jenny's Birthday or Mary's Christmas List.
Event Date:
Enter the date of your event. The format should be mm/dd/yy. For example 01/01/10.
Preferred Delivery Method:
You have two choices, you can have items purchased off your gift registry sent directly to you or you can select customer's address, That way, they can wrap it and put a big bow on it before they give it to you.
Other Options:
Hide Event:
If you check this box, your Gift Registry will be hidden from the results of a Gift Registry Search. The only way people will be able to find and have access to your registry is will be if you send them a link to it.
Hide Gift Registry recipient's shipping address:
This box is checked by default, meaning unless you uncheck it, people will not be able to see your shipping address. You can still select to have items, purchased for you, sent directly to you. This can be useful in maintaining your privacy. If you uncheck it, people will be able to see your shipping address.
Notify me of new orders:
When you check this, anytime someone makes a purchase for you, of an item on your gift registry, you will be notified by email.
Include Gift Certificates:
Right now, we do not offer gift certificates, so you selection here doesn't really matter. If we did, you could have gift certificates in your registry and then people could purchase those for you. This would allow you to receive multiple gift certificates that you could use toward the purchase of a single or multiple items.
Active:
This is checked by default. It just means your gift registry is live. If for some reason you want to turn it off, you can do that just by unchecking this box.
Once you have everything filled out, select "continue". You will then be able to start adding items to your gift registry, view products in your gift registry, notify people that you have created a gift registry or go back and edit the setting of your gift registry.
Managing Gift Registries:
When managing your gift registry, you can do four things, add products, view products, notify friends and edit settings. Below we will cover each of these.
Add Products:
When you select to add product to your registry, it will be just like you shopping. Everything you select will go into your shopping bag. When you go to your shopping back, either by clicking checkout or by clicking on the shopping bag link at the top, right of any page, you will have the option to add the items to your gift registry.
View Items:
When you select to view items, you can see all the items in your Gift Registry. When you view products you can add to the quantity and you can also remove them. You will also be able to see if someone has purchased items off your registry by comparing the values of the "Items" and "Avail" fields.
Notify Friends:
When you notify friends, you will be sending them an email that notifys them of your Maverick James. Under this selection, you will need to provide an email address for each person you wish to notify. Please note, we do not store these email addresses, so each time you want to notify people, you will need to enter the addresses again.
Edit Settings:
Under this selection, you will be able to modify the same settings you set when you created your gift registry. For a detailed explaination of each of these items, please see above under "Create New Gift Registry".
